Sergeant Alex Volm began his career with the Sheriff’s Office in 2011 as a Correctional Deputy. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in 2012 and attended the Law Enforcement Academy at Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton. In 2014 he was promoted to Patrol Deputy and served as a Field Training Officer until his promotion to Sergeant in October of 2018.

Sgt. Volm serves as a Tactical Operator on the SWAT team and also serves as a member of the Crash Reconstruction Team in the capacity of a crash investigator. Sgt. Volm is certified in the use of forensic mapping using a robotic total station to assist in crash and crime scene diagraming. Sgt. Volm is certified in Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement. Sgt. Volm also serves on the Fond du Lac County Child Abduction Response Team as an Intelligence member. Sgt. Volm is certified as a Defense and Arrest Tactics Instructor and a certified instructor of the Sheriff’s Office VirTra, which is a simulation and tactical firearms training tool.
