Sergeant Bonack started his career with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office in 1988 when hired as a part time correctional deputy in the jail, in 1989 that position became full time. In 1990, he was promoted to the position of patrol deputy where he had the opportunity to work all three shifts in that capacity. During this time as a patrol deputy, he was an active member of the field-training unit, training many deputies in the Sheriff’s Office. In April of 2002, he was promoted to sergeant and currently holds that position assigned to 1st shift. Sergeant Bonack is the dive team leader of the Sheriff’s Office Dive Team. He has been a member of the Dive Team for the past 25 years and plans to step down from that position April of 2019. He also is a SARC operator, Honor Guard assistant team leader, serves as a firearms instructor and vehicle contacts instructor. He is a certified CRASE instructor and serves as the CRASE instruction coordinator for the Sheriff’s Office. He is also the Command Post Operator as well as the Office Quartermaster.
