05/14/17 - 2 Fires

N8799 County Road E Fire

On May 14th at 2:26 PM the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, along with City of Ripon Fire Department were dispatched to N8799 County Road E, in the Township of Ripon, Fond du Lac County for a garage fire. The garage is considered a total loss. The fire also caused exterior damage to a nearby residence and barn. The fire is believed to have started from nearby burn barrel. The fire is not considered to be suspicious. No injuries were reported.

Fire Departments from City of Fond du Lac, Brandon-Fairwater, Princeton, and Grand River assisted at the scene, along with City of Ripon Police Department.

W977 South Shore Lane Fire

On May 14, 2017 at 3:23 PM the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office along with Mt. Calvary Fire Department were dispatched to W977 South Shore Lane for a house fire. The fire appeared to have started in the kitchen near the stove. The residence sustained significant damage in the kitchen area of the house. The occupants of the house, Mark and Susan Steffes were not injured in the fire.

A 25-year-old fire fighter from the Mt. Calvary Fire Department was transported by Mt. Calvary Ambulance to St. Agnes Hospital for injuries sustained fighting the fire. He was later released.

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office investigated the fire and determined that the fire started accidently from the electrical cord on the kitchen range. The fire was determined not to be suspicious.

The Mt. Calvary Fire Department was assisted at the scene by Town of Calumet and St. Could Fire Departments, RIT Team 3, Mt. Calvary and Orange Cross Ambulances and Town of Calumet First Responders.
